Toe Reading Elements
Toe Reading is based on holistic principles of traditional Ayurvedic medicine, which originated in India. This theory holds that five elements influence physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness and create harmony between with nature.
Each toe represents characteristics of these five elements.

The Five Elements of Ayurvedic Theory
Ether (space) - assigned to the big toe, it represents the connection to a higher source (what we think of as the Creator or God source). It also represents the empty space that connects all matter together. It you find yourself drifting off as if in a daydream, you may find your thoughts are 'out in the eithers'. Is your soul trying to make a connection? The Ether toe can bring awareness if you are following the life path intended for your soul.
Air - assigned to the second toe, the air toe represents the communication you have with yourself and other people. It is that first gasp of breath that gives life to the physical body. How you communicate with others after that first breath is recorded in the second toe. Since air is also associated with wind, the air toe can indicate if you are long-winded and like to share your thoughts and life stories, or if you are more blunt and to the point in your communication style. Communication is your thoughts in motion.
Fire - the third toe is the fire toe that represents action and passion. Action is energy in motion and the fire toe can reveal if you are quick to take action on your creative ideas and have enthusiasm to manifest a goal into reality. It can also bring awareness if you need assistance from other people before you take action, or withdraw from taking action until you have fully contemplated an idea.
Water - the forth toe represents the element of water and it reveals how willing you are to 'go with the flow' when it comes to relationships with other people in your life. In nature, the water element nurtures life forms, and the water toe can bring awareness to how you nurture the family, friends and work peers in your environment. It can also reveal if you are nurturing your own soul, which often is neglected as it becomes necessary to provide love and compassion to others. The relationship toe can reveal if you hold on to relationships from the past or are looking to the future to form new relationships.
Earth - the little toe represents the element of Earth which is the solid form of matter that can be possessed or owned. This relates to the prosperity or abundance that you have created in your life. The position of the earth toe can indicate if you are abundant in prosperity right now, or perhaps you are looking into the future when your circumstances may change. The earth toe also represents the mental stability and balance that is associated with trust and how grounded you are in your belief systems. It can indicate if you are cautious and practical (down to earth), or if you are a risk-taker and throw caution to the wind and live to satisfy the needs of the moment.
